Michael Gentry founded Gentry Construction in 2004, but that's not the beginning of the story.

When Mike was seven, his father gave him a hammer. Mike engraved his name in that hammer (see logo), and his father soon put him to work hammering, drywalling, painting, and learning the fine points of which wires not to cross when wiring a socket.

Mike went on to earn a degree in Construction Engineering Management from Oregon State University. Mike became established in the Portland community and began new construction work before turning his attention to remodeling.

He resides in a 1930 English Tudor in Northeast Portland with his wife Brooke, his kids Benjamin and Grace, and his always-present canine pal, Brutus.
